Packaging:
The YSL Fusion Ink Cushion Foundation comes in a stunning refillable gold and black compact. The lacquered lid is embedded with the YSL logo and there is a mirror on the underside of the lid. The compact itself has two layers: the top holds a sponge applicator and the bottom holds the cushion layer soaked with the actual foundation. To use, simply tap the sponge applicator into the cushion well. Tap lightly for a light coverage or press harder a full coverage. In terms of packaging, the design of the compact and the cushion is pretty standard but YSL did a wonderful job creating a very luxurious and expensive-looking compact.

Formulation:
With a thin but silky formulation, the Yves Saint Laurent Fusion Ink Cushion Foundation provides quite a nice coverage and a little product goes a long, long way. The formulation has a very subtle floral scent and there is an SPF of 23. Aside from the very buildable coverage, the foundation is fairly smoothing and it has a slightly dewy finish. The wear is a little lackluster; I didn't experience bad fading or excessive oiliness but there were some creasing near the corner of my nose and bunching of pigments around dry patches, which are usually indicative of a formulation that doesn't jive too well with my combination skin.

All in all, though, this is a nice cushion foundation but my personal recommendation would still be the Teint Idole Ultra Cushion from Lancome. YSL offers only six shades in this range and I have here number 20, which is actually a lot lighter than the swatch they showed on the Sephora website. I'd say that this is comparable to an NC/NW 15-20. As you can see, I did just the lightest swatch and the coverage is already very good.
